Pastor James Ritter

Rev. James Ritter pastors the Watsontown Baptist Church.  A native of Hughesville, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Mansfield University, and graduated from Eastern Seminary in 1983.  He pastored in Northwest Pa., and in Lancaster before coming to Watsontown.  Besides his pastoral ministry, Pastor Jim also serves as the Chairperson for the Coordinating Council for Church Leadership Institute for Northeast Pennsylvania – a two year intensive school that trains people to become certified lay ministers.  Pastor Jim is the Instructor for the Old Testament Survey course, and has taught the Theology Course.  Pastor Jim also serves as a substitute teacher for Watsontown Christian Academy. 

 

Pastor Jim and his wife Mary have three daughters:  Jennifer, Jessica, and Jamie. They also have one granddaughter: Elise.


Additional Staff

Sue Fairchild: Church Secretary. Sue works on our bulletin each week as well as helping the Pastor with various other projects. Sue and her husband, John Fairchild (who is also the Church's Financial Secretary) live within steps of the church. She also works as an insurance agent in Lewisburg, PA.

Megan Keifer: Pianist. Megan is married and has two children, Warren James and Jacob Leroy. She lives right outside of Watsontown with her family.

Erin Keiser: Pianist. She is a nurse in the ER at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, PA. She is married  to Sam Keiser (Grounds Keeper).

Susan Tressler: Organist. Sue is our part-time organist. She divides her time amongst other churches in our area.

Amanda Kilgus: Organist. Amanda just recently became a part of our musical family. She brings a new excitement to our organ and everyone is thrilled with her music! Amanda is in her Freshman year at college.

Sam Keiser: Grounds Keeper. Sam, who is married to Erin Keiser, is our outside grounds keeper. He maintains our landscaping and keeps our sidewalks clean. Sam also works at Lycoming County Water & Sewer Authority.

Sharon Mutschler: Sexton. Sharon enjoys working to keep our church clean as well as spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Our Congregation and Diaconate Board: Help to make decisions within our church in order to keep us going and help us to spread God's word both here and in other countries.
